Our health depends on eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. In fact, when Allah (the Almighty God) lists His mercies to us in the Qur'an:55 (Ar-Rahman or The Most Merciful), He begins by mentioning fruit before mentioning any other sustenance. The majority of the foods prepared for the People of Paradise are fruits as well.

The Noble Qur'an mentions fruits 14 times in total. There are 11 mentions of the word fakihah (fruit), and three mentions of fawakih (fruits). Both Yaqteen (Qur'an 37:146), which is translated as gourd or gourd vine, and Baql (Qur'an 2:61), which is translated as herbs, pot-herbs, green herbs, or vegetables, are mentioned as well.

Vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables can help your body fend off diseases. In fact, studies have shown a correlation between them and a lower risk of cancer, heart disease, and other chronic illnesses.

Vegetables are a good source of vitamins and minerals that can help prevent diabetes, particularly leafy green vegetables. These contain potassium, magnesium, chromium, and vitamins C and E. The antioxidant and fiber content of fruits can benefit heart health. Fiber can help decrease cholesterol and maintain healthy blood sugar levels, while antioxidants help defend against damage caused by free radicals. As a result of their low-calorie and high-fiber contents, both fruits and vegetables can aid in weight loss and management. Also, fruits and vegetables help the body get rid of toxins, which is important for overall health and avoiding many diseases.

Polyphenols, which are antioxidants that can help shield your body from disease, are abundant in vegetables. A decreased risk of heart disease, stroke, cancer, and other chronic diseases has been associated with polyphenol consumption. Numerous plants, such as alfalfa, broccoli, and onions (all of which are present in our Organic Greens and Fruits), contain polyphenols. They can also be present in fruits, including raspberries, blackberries, and apples (all included in our Organic Greens and Fruits). Additionally, cruciferous vegetables, including broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and kale (all of which are included in our Organic Greens and Fruits), contain sulforaphane, a potent antibacterial and anticarcinogenic chemical.

In addition to being beneficial to your health, polyphenols can enhance the flavor and color of your food. They supply vital nutrients that keep our bodies operating normally and aid in preventing chronic ailments. Eating a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables has been linked to a lower risk of cancer, heart disease, and other chronic diseases.

Garlic and onions (Qur'an 2:61), barley [grass], which the Noble Prophet Muhammad (on whom be peace) recommended (Ibn Majah), celery (Imam Ibn Qayyim), and other nutrient-dense healing fruits and vegetables were chosen for you in our Unique Herbs Organic Greens and Vegetables.

In order to make sure you and your family are getting the nutrients you need, include fruits and vegetables in your meals. Millions supplement them as well.
