Who is Dr. Umar?
Dr. Umar Sallau is the CEO of The American Herbs Benefits (Amerihebb) Inc., a New York-based nutraceutical company, as well as The Center for Prophetic Medicine, Inc. (Texas).
Dr. Umar Sallau is passionate about reviving Prophetic Medicine, a holistic approach to well-being with spiritual roots that has long been overlooked. Imam Shafi' described the medical guidance of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (on whom be peace) as "a third of the human wisdom." Contrary to popular assumption among the Ummah, Prophetic Medicine encompasses much more than black seed, Arruqya invocation, and cupping.
Backstory
It dawned on Dr. Umar Sallau that the world needs to know about and benefit from the health guidance of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (on whom be peace) when he met a non-Muslim scientist who spoke highly of the Prophet's (on whom be peace) guidance, not in the context of religion but in the field of health. Because Umar Sallau wasn't in the medical field at the time, this initiative was put on hold.
After receiving his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2015, Dr. Umar Sallau turned his focus to Prophetic Medicine instead of pursuing his original goal of working at the New York hospital where his twin girls were born. He has had the honor of studying under eminent academics, including Dr. Issa Nadwi of India and Dr. T. C. Campbell of Cornell University, recognized leaders in Prophetic cupping therapy and nutritional biochemistry, respectively.
His interest in Prophetic Medicine grew as he researched it further. Prophetic Medicine has a special quality: alongside nutrition and lifestyle, it includes a spiritual dimension that addresses well-being beyond the physical.
In sha Allah, Dr. Umar Sallau and his team aim to advance Prophetic Medicine, and Unique Herbs is part of that endeavor. Unique Herbs was founded to offer supplements inspired by Prophetic Medicine.
